Professional Bio
Robert Anderson is a cardiologist and electrophysiologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Here he completed EP training and a PhD on mechanisms of ventricular tachycardia under the supervision of A/Prof Geoffrey Lee and Professor Jon Kalman including studies at Westmead Hospital in Sydney under the supervision of A/Prof Saurabh Kumar. He was awarded the Young Investigators Award at APHRS in 2019. He has returned from a 2-year high-volume international EP/pacing fellowship and post-doctoral studies at Toronto General Hospital where he also completed translational studies in VT mechanisms with his mentor Professor Kumar Nanthakumar published in multiple EP journals. He was awarded the RACP Bushell Scholarship for his intramural VT work and received the Toronto General Hospital research award in 2022-2023. He is continuing VT research through the Baker Institute Experimental Electrophysiology laboratory. His clinical interests include mapping and ablation of PVCs/VT, congenital and complex atrial arrhythmias.
